We can’t always do everything 100%. That’s why it’s important not to take on too much, but also to know that sometimes we won’t always be together. I have to constantly remind myself that it’s okay if you’re not at the top of the class, it’s okay if you don’t stay up late to study, and it’s okay if you don’t have the energy to clean your room every day. Sometimes we need to let go of this desire to be perfect in everything. Being grateful and accepting that the way things are is enough.
It’s also important to ask for help.
Whether it’s asking for help from your supervisor, professors, or family, be forthright and honest. We really aren’t meant to face everything alone. Asking for help when you need it is not a sign of weakness, but a sign of maturity. Sometimes “I’ve done the best I can” is the best we can do, and that’s okay. Summer is coming to an end, which means things are about data interpretation and business insights to get a lot busier at the office. Replace the candy, soda, energy drinks, and sugary snacks in your desk drawer with healthy snacks like dried fruit and nuts.
