GreenLetter: Money needs marketing

The recent crypto boom clearly shows us that money is entering the era of marketing for good. Currencies – both traditional and crypto – need promotion and a unique value proposition. Central banks are a bit like marketing departments of individual national currencies, but they have a small promotional arsenal at their disposal.

Crypto comes in here with a whole host of telegram blast additional functionalities, which are now joined by confirmation of being a human – Proof of Personhood (PoP).

Worldcoin PoP is done by scanning the iris of the eye, which in itself is very interesting and controversial ( take 8 minutes to understand how it works). The device that was built for this purpose – a shiny steel sphere straight from a spaceship – is the perfect promotional material and something that every news outlet would be happy to show as an artifact from the future.

“Proof of Personhood” sounds a bit odd. It’s worth realizing, however, that we are slowly approaching a world in which bots (thanks to AI) will have more and more subjectivity. It’s already nearly impossible to tell a bot from a human in conversation. Whether we like it or not, we will soon need Proof of Personhood, and for now, the only alternative to centrally controlled state documents is Worldcoin, which provides an element of anonymity.

Will the idea for a global digital ID work? 

Worldcoin, a project developed by Tools for Humanity, aims to create a global network of digital identities. Users scan their irises using a sphere called “Orb” to create a virtual ID and in return are rewarded with Worldcoin tokens. This digital “ID card” allows, among other things, the use of online services without revealing personal data. Worldcoin is configuring server settings generating a lot of excitement, and they result from the promise of combining two major trends in the financial market in recent years: AI and cryptocurrencies. On the other hand, there are concerns about the privacy and security of biometric data. In addition, the tokens are not available in the United States and some other countries due to uncertain or unclear regulatory regulations – Kenya recently banned Worldcoin. Does the project have a chance to go mainstream, or will it turn out to be another crypto dud? We will find out in some time.

AI Chatbots on Meta Platforms

Meta plans to launch AI chatbots with different personalities next month. They will be able to conduct human-like conversations, and some of them will imitate famous figures such as Abraham Lincoln. The bots will also provide advice and cz leads recommendations, such as travel plans. By introducing chatbots, Meta wants to increase engagement on its platforms and retain users. But it is also a way to target more personalized content and ads – the chatbots will collect extensive data on our interests.
